Toulouse - Strasbourg Prediction, Picks and Tips

Since the return of RC Strasbourg to the Ligue 1, both Toulouse and RC Strasbourg have always managed to score in mutual matches. Can we also expect hits from both teams on Wednesday evening?

After twelve consecutive defeats, Toulouse finally achieved another result last weekend by drawing a 0-0 draw on a visit to Amiens. The hatchback barely managed to become dangerous in the relegation cracker against Amiens and only scored one goal, but because le Téfécé managed to keep the zero for the first time since the end of August, the Denis Zanko team had one point left in the game. The backlog in the safe seventeenth place went up to eleven points and with sixteen rounds to go, a place above the relegation line at the end of the season still seems to be a hopeless mission for Zanko and his players. This season, Toulouse already fell behind in seventeen of the 22 league games and each time this led to a loss of points. Only twice did Le Téfécé secure another point and the other 15 games were all lost. In the other five league games, the Zanko team did not fall behind and no less than eleven points were collected. However, Le Téfécé also seems unable to cope well with a lead, as in three of the last eleven league games, the team from Toulouse took the lead, but all three games were eventually lost.

RC Strasbourg has had a week to forget quickly. Last Wednesday, the team of Thierry Laurey went to visit Olympique Marseille 3-1 in the eighth finals of the Coupe de France and last weekend, 2-1 were lost to Lille in-house. Le Racing was still 1-0 ahead by Adrien Thomasson in the first half, but due to two goals in the second half, the second from a penalty, RC Strasbourg lost. The team of Thierry Laurey left a chance to rise to the shared fifth place and can now be found on the goal balance in the right row. With five goals in the last three games, scoring does not seem to be a big problem for the Laurey team, but on the defensive side the team has a much harder time, as in the last five games, zero was never kept. Le Racing has been struggling to keep the zero all year round, because only in five of the 22 league games this season goalkeeper Matz Sels kept his goal clean. By way of comparison: leader Paris Saint-Germain already kept the zero thirteen times and Stade Reims, who still collected two points more than le Racing, already kept the zero ten times. Just like last season, when RC Strasbourg finished in eleventh place in the league, the Laurey team in the Ligue 1 cashed in on average one hit per seventy minutes and this season the team is therefore on track for eleventh place.
