St. Pauli - Greuther Furth Prediction, Picks and Tips

How little can be done from little to nothing, demonstrated last weekend the FC St. Pauli and Greuther Fürth in an amazing way. While the Kiezkicker picked up a point on the Bielefelder Alm for the start and were even scored just three seconds past three points, the shamrock put his home game against Erzgebirge Aue despite oppressive superiority completely in the sand and is thus first in the table of the new season in the 2nd Bundesliga. On Friday St. Pauli and Fürth meet in direct duel. If the guests are just as inefficient as they are at the beginning, then it could promptly give the second defeat in a row. Even the direct comparison of recent years does not necessarily speak for the Fürth - as well as the fact that in the last five direct duels never won the away, but last four times in succession, the home team. Accordingly, in the match between St. Pauli and Fürth, the forecast is easy for a tip on the hamburger.

Luck and bad luck are sometimes close together in football. In his opening game with Arminia Bielefeld FC St. Pauli had their own 1-0 lead fortunately that referee Bastian Dankert in the 73rd Minute a previously given hand penalty for video evidence - according to the latest regulations rightly - revised. In the final minute the Kiezkicker conceded but then still the compensation, which was earned, however. St. Pauli, who started the game without a real new signing, could only offensive accents set in the first half and rewarded by a goal of 19-year-old debutant Christian Conteh. In the second half of the match, the Hamburg team concentrated on the defensive as far as possible, which alone reflects the chances of 18: 2 (!) In favor of Bielefeld and 33% of possession in the second half. So it was certainly annoying from the perspective of St. Pauli that the goal came to a 1-1 final score in the final minute, complain about this one point the pirates of the league were not allowed. On the other hand, the effort of Marc Hornschuh, who made his comeback after almost two years of injury-related absence, was pleasing from Hamburg's point of view. Less favorable for the responsible of the association, however, was the press conference of coach Jos Luhukay the day before the game on the Bielefelder Alm. He pulled out to a sweep, complained, among other things, the comfort and niceness of the club, which should be thrown in the trash. He also publicly questioned the quality of the team. For the players, this quake was different. Some expressed a different opinion than their coach, others in turn showed understanding. In the middle of the week, the club management took another position and positioned itself behind their coach. All that remains to be seen is whether Luhukay, as requested by him, actually receives new players in all parts of the team. At any rate, his current protégés will try to teach their coach better and show that he can reach more than ninth place with them - which Luhukay considers almost impossible. In the preseason St. Pauli could only win one of his last five home games - but lost only one.

St. Pauli fired against Bielefeld three times on the gate of the opponent and hit once. How it goes otherwise, the SpVgg Greuther Fürth demonstrated in their opening match against Erzgebirge Aue. In his home game, the shamrock made a total of 24 (!) Shots, of which seven went to the box of guests from the Erzgebirge. In the end, however, Fürth had a zero on the scoreboard. Aue did it like St. Pauli and little. With only 38% ball possession and only seven shots on the Fürth goal, Aue scored two goals. Fürth had a lot more chances to play and especially in the first half and then again in the final phase the more high-profile chances. But either the aluminum, Aue-Keeper Martin Männel or his own inability stood in the way. With Marco Meyerhöfer, returnees Mergim Mavraj and Marvin Stefaniak Fürth coach Stefan Leitl had three new additions from the beginning to accumulate, all played through. Actually Fürth had scheduled three points for the start of the new season. But so the trip to the neighborhood is particularly difficult, where Fürth does not want to lay the foundation for a very weak season in foreign places again. In the preseason Furth could win only four of 17 away games in the 2nd Bundesliga. On the other hand, the shamrock conceded nine defeats and a total of 32 goals conceded. With fourteen own away goals Furth also presented the weakest away drive in the lower house. It should not necessarily contribute to the euphoria that Fürth left so many chances on the first matchday. Only one of the last twelve away games in the preseason could win Fürth - eight defeats. Considering these facts, the signs for the game on Friday are not too favorable and yet the shamrock on the neighborhood is by no means a chance. On average, the odds have now dropped by 0.5 points, which is by no means a small value.
