Except for a monumental surprise, Olympiacos and Sporting de Portugal are condemned to the third place in Group D of the Champions League, as they are placed together with Barcelona and Juventus, two 'big' players in Europe and the title holders the main continental competition. The Piraeus team has dominated Greek football with authority over the last few years but is clearly in second row at European level.
