Maastricht - Telstar Prediction, Picks and Tips

After an international week, the football weekend in the Netherlands kicks off with the Kitchen Champion Division. MVV takes on Telstar in-house.

MVV started the season badly with two losses against Go Ahead Eagles and De Graafschap, but then recovered. Successively Young PSV and arch rival Roda JC were defeated with 1-0. The new-baked trainer Fuat Usta, who succeeded Ron Elsen after years of service as head coach, wanted to continue that good series with a new victory visiting the club keeper FC Dordrecht, but on the Krommedijk the Star Carriers did not go beyond a 1-1 draw . After three minutes, the team from Maastricht already took the lead via Joshua Holtby, but even before half time Fabian equalized for the home team. After the break, Joeri Schroijen's equally theatrical and laughable schwalbe was the highlight. Now that the transfer period is over, MVV can finally take stock. In the final week of the transfer market, the club management managed to seduce Thijmen Goppel (ADO The Hague), Urha Nissila (Zulte Waregem), Nigel Bertrams (De Graafschap) and Thibaut van Acker (Roeselare) into employment in the Limburg capital. All of them are players who are used to a higher level and should therefore be able to grow into strong holders. Now that Marnick Vermijl is fit again and Shermar Martina is back from an interland break, Usta has his strongest team on central defender Mahmutovic and he will have to disappoint some targeted basic players.

Telstar, like MVV, managed to collect seven points from the first five games. The Velsenaren achieved these points in contrast to MVV in the first weeks of the season. The team of ex-MVV trainer Andries Jonker got off to a good start with a scoreless draw against Jong PSV, a 0-1 away win against FC Den Bosch and a resounding 3-0 win over title candidate Excelsior. The defense of the White Lions therefore did not have to collect any goals in the first three games, but did not make the best turn in the following games. In the 4-2 defeat against NEC, the defense seemed just like a big cheese, while Cambuur also managed to find holes in the defense with great regularity last weekend. Just like previous years, it was a coming and going on the transfer market this summer. Against Cambuur, only four basic players were already under contract with Telstar last season. One of the many newcomers is good old Glynor Plet. In the past, the striker hit the goals together in Velsen-Zuid, but due to a lack of rhythm, he is not able to handle entire matches.
