Lyon - Nimes Prediction, Picks and Taips

Olympique Lyonnais and Nîmes Olympique both managed to win only once this season. Will either team book the second win of the season on Friday evening?

In the opening game of the season, Olympique Lyonnais still made a big impression with a 4-0 win over Dijon, but since then it has been going downhill with the results of les Gones. Last weekend a visit to Girondins de Bordeaux was drawn 0-0 and last Tuesday a 2-1 visit to Montpellier was lost. After an hour of play, Garcia's team was 2-0 behind and with a man less on the field due to a red card for Houssem Aouar, but a red card for Montpellier in the final phase made the match still exciting. Memphis Depay managed to make the connection goal from a penalty kick, but a defeat turned out to be inevitable for Garcia's team. On the defensive, Olympique Lyonnais is still performing well with three goals against in three games, but on the offensive, les Gones are missing too many opportunities. Olympique Lyonnais did score five goals, of which Depay was responsible for no less than four, three of which came from penalties. With just two goals from 46 shots on goal from open chance, the conversion rate of Garcia's squad is only 4.3%, compared to a conversion rate of 14.9% last season.

Just like Olympique Lyonnais, Nîmes Olympique started the new season with a big win, but since then, good results have not been achieved for Jérôme Arpinon's team. Two weeks ago, they lost 2-1 on a visit to Nantes and last weekend they lost 4-2 to Stade Rennais in-house. Arpinon's team was able to create a lot more danger than Stade Rennais, but turned out to be vulnerable defensively and quickly fell behind. Goals from Zinedine Ferhat and Andrés Cubas brought Les Crocodiles to the same level twice, but two goals against in the final phase led to the second defeat in a row. In contrast to Olympique Lyonnais, Nîmes Olympique is a lot more effective in the finish, as evidenced by the fact that Arpinon's team has already scored seven times from 38 shots on target, which is a more than decent conversion rate of 18.4%. Defensively, however, les Crocodiles are also vulnerable, as evidenced by the fact that six goals were conceded in three games, an average of two per game. Because it is not expected that les Crocodiles will be able to maintain the high conversion rate, better defense will have to be done, otherwise it could be a long and difficult season again.
