The Germans lost at the weekend (1-2 vs Union Berlin) their first game since February, since a 2-3 vs Bayern Munich. In addition, Amadou Haidara and Lukas Klostermann have some medical problems and are uncertain. The German full-back, however, is expected to start in Tedesco's defence. Nordi Mukiele will come into the first 11 to make up for the absences of Simakan and Orban. Adams could play in midfield, while Andre Silva will be helped in attack by Dani Olmo and Christopher Nkunku.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side, on the other hand, are coming off four consecutive wins. They managed to win 3-1 at Motherwell at the weekend, just a few days after winning 2-1 after extra time against Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-finals. In the Scottish Premiership play-offs, the Gers are in second place, six points behind rivals Celtic. At the weekend, the two sides will contest another Old Firm Derby. Rangers have been nervous about qualifying for the UEFA Europa League semi-finals. In the previous round, the Glasgow side beat Braga 2-1 in the return leg after a 0-1 draw in the first leg. It went to extra time, where Kemar Roofe scored the decisive goal.Ianis Hagi, Alfreo Morelos and Kemar Roofe are the main absentees in attack for the Scots. Without them, Sakala will lead the visitors' attack in the Leipzig vs Rangers duel. Filip Helander and Nnamdi Ofoborh also have medical problems and will not be able to play, while Aaron Ramsey is doubtful. The Dutch manager might prefer a 4-3-3 formation, with Aribo and Kent backing up Sakala. Kamara, Lundstram and Jack will play in midfield.
