Juventus Torino will finish 4th in the current Serie A season. The Bianconeri have been formidable in the return leg, but unfortunately they couldn't really mix it up in the title fight after their disastrous start to the season. In their last match, Juventus travelled to Genoa. Dybala opened the scoring at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris in front of 16,000 spectators in the 59th minute. Even without any particular motivation, the "old lady" was about to completely close the dreams of the hosts to save themselves from relegation. But the end was to be dramatic. Genoa equalised in the 87th minute through Gudmundsson, and in the final stages of the game managed to take the lead through Criscito's goal. It was the seventh defeat of the season for Torino. If the Serie A season was ultimately a disappointment, the Bianconeri can salvage their image by winning the Italian Cup. Before the Juventus - Inter final, the Turinese had got past Sampdoria, Sassuolo and Fiorentina.
Internazionale Milano remained in the Scudetto race after a spectacular comeback in the previous round's game. Inter found themselves 2-0 down in their duel with Empoli as early as the 28th minute. Simone Inzaghi's side managed to bring some peace quickly at the San Siro. An own-goal and a Lautaro Martinez strike made the score level at half-time. Then the same Martinez put the Nerazzurri ahead in the 64th minute. In the end, Inter won 4-2, with Sanchez scoring the last goal in extra time. With two rounds to go, the title holders are two points behind AC Milan. Next weekend, Internazionale have a tough trip to Cagliari. Prior to the Juventus-Inter final, the Italian Cup run wasn't exactly smooth for Inzaghi's side, who needed extra time in the knockout stages against Empoli before knocking out AS Roma and AC Milan.
