Jong Ajax - Jong PSV Prediction, Picks and Tips

Ajax against PSV is the topper in the Eredivisie every year, but next Monday the mini topper is at stake in the Kitchen Champion Division. In recent years it was mainly Jong PSV who played the part in the mutual duels, but the Eindhoven players are doing very badly.

The Amsterdam youth players have started the season changingly. TOP Oss lost in the opening game, but then it got in better shape. They kept NEC at home on a tie and against FC Dordrecht and Almere City a neat victory was booked. Players such as Noa Lang, Ryan Gravenberch, Sergiño Dest and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp impressed the team of Mitchell van der Gaag. Erik ten Hag did not go unnoticed and the foursome was brought to the first team. Still, Dest will probably be the only one that Jong Ajax has to say goodbye for the time being, because the first team will be able to use it well. This also makes the position of the other three uncertain. With the KNVB Cup, Premier League and Champions League in mind, the Dutch superpower could use some breadth. On Friday-evening, the team from Amsterdam had to travel to De Vijverberg for one of the most difficult matches this Kitchen Champion Division season. At least that was the expectation, but after playing for half an hour there was 0-2 on the scoreboard. Lassina Traoré scored the opening goal from eleven meters and Gravenberch doubled that lead. Young Ajax went into the break with an excellent starting position. More than thirty seconds after the break Quinten Timber of Jong Ajax took a direct red card and it became a difficult task. The leader of the Kitchen Champion Division was more good with a man and managed to score three times. The ten from Jong Ajax gave away a 0-2 lead and that eventually led to a 3-2 defeat.

Young PSV had a very weak start to the 2019/2020 season. Although the team from Eindhoven managed to score a point in the first match against FC Den Bosch, the points were not received for a long time. Coach Peter Uneken had probably hoped for a better start, as smaller clubs such as Almere City, MVV and Jong FC Utrecht were lost. The team of Jong PSV also seems to be severely weakened compared to last season and goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall appears to be one of the few Premier League-worthy players in the team. On paper, the Jong PSV team is therefore demonstrably weaker than the Jong Ajax team. Jong PSV was finally able to impress and the first three points were caught in the competition this weekend. Also in this match it seemed to go the other way first. At the break the Eindhoven team were already looking at a 0-2 deficit against Young AZ. Young PSV made up for this deficit thanks to two goals from Richie Ledezma. Amar Catic also scored and so it was 3-2 for Jong PSV. In the last minute Jong AZ received a penalty, but Unnerstall stopped the penalty kick. Young PSV won for the first time this season and fills confidence for Monday night's game.
