The performance of the Russians in the European Championship qualification was impressive. In a group with Belgium, Scotland, Cyprus, Kazakhstan and San Marino, Russia made a big impression. Despite seven goals conceded in two games against the Red Devils, the selection of Stanislav Cherchesov managed to end with a positive goal difference of +25.
