Excelsior - Dordrecht Prediction, Picks and Tips

The first period has now been completed and the balance can now be drawn up. For both Excelsior and FC Dordrecht the first period ended as a huge deception. Fortunately the new period starts this weekend and the cards are shuffled again. Which club starts with a triple point?

Excelsior had the chance to win the period title until the last round of play, but in the end it grabbed thanks to (again) a defeat next to the period title. The performance at Woudestein was not due to the fact that the four home games were convincingly won. In Kralingen the team scored an average of three goals per game and that provided the necessary light points for Ricardo Moniz. The problem, however, is in the away games. Of the five games, Excelsior only won against Young AZ. They lost against Telstar, NAC and Cambuur. The defeat against Cambuur came hard. Last Friday it was a long bus trip back from Leeuwarden. Excelsior got a huge beating and was already at a 3-0 deficit at half time. In the end it became 4-0 and with that the club dropped to sixth place. The team from Rotterdam defended below par and that has actually been a problem all season. Excelsior confirms this conclusion time and again and has already had seventeen goals against this season.

FC Dordrecht also has defensive breaches. If you watch the club's matches, it is almost unthinkable that the people from Drecht were active in the Eredivisie four years ago. The team of Claudio Braga won only one of the nine games this season and is therefore the last player in the Kitchen Champion Division. This is mainly due to the keeper problem of FC Dordrecht. In Dordrecht they had high expectations of Young Feyenoord keeper Ramon Ten Hove, but he blundered every week, forcing Braga to remove him. The Serbian goalkeeper Petar Stošković and Andries Noppert were also included in the selection and were given the opportunity in recent weeks. Yet none of them managed to convince and there were several blunders around the Dordrecht goal. This was also the last round of play, when FC Dordrecht had to play against Jong FC Utrecht in their own RIWAL Hoogwerkers Stadium. This was not easy, because the club was outclassed on all fronts. The club fell behind after four minutes and when the U23s of Utrecht threatened to double this lead, Feyenoord mercenary Noah Lewis pulled on the emergency brake and took a red card. FC Dordrecht had little to say with ten men and they lost sadly and embarrassingly 5-2 to the impressive Young FC Utrecht. The two hits from Renny Smith were encouraging, but not nearly enough.
