Deinze - St. Gilloise Prediction, Picks and Taips

A few match days after the start of the Jupiler Pro League, the Proximus League may also start. After a number of tumultuous months with many lawsuits, the teams that will kick off this weekend are known. One of the many newcomers is Deinze. They can immediately compete against one of the title favorites, Union Saint-Gilloise.

Deinze is one of the new teams in the Proximus League. They have been promoted from amateur football. However, many signs indicate that this was not a real amateur team, but that they were already ready for a step up. After all, last year they played champions with a lead of more than twenty points. A difference to say so. Moreover, they have some toppers in their ranks: Blondelle, Lecomte, Vargas ... These guys have already proven themselves at the highest level and are certainly planning to do that again. David Gevaert has proven in the preparation that he can play nice football with his team. Serious toppers were played home, such as Cercle Brugge. They only conceded one goal, and that was against last year's champion of the Jupiler Pro League. Not bad I think! Of course, the Proximus League remains unknown territory. Gevaert will find out soon enough that for every patch of grass, for every ball, every point has to be fought for in this competition. These are things that teams like Union are already used to, of course. Deinze does not have that experience, but Lommel proved last year that it is not necessary to play beautiful football and to achieve good results!

Union is one of the undisputed favorites to promote this season. They haven't been doing badly for several years. They also competed for the period title last year, but in the latter they had to recognize their superior twice. With the many acquisitions they have made in recent months, they do not want that to happen again. Trainer Felice Mazzu will undoubtedly be able to achieve good results with this player core. Mazzu has actually already shown in the preparation what kind of results he can achieve with this team. Almost all matches were won and not against the least opponents: Lens, Valenciennes, Mouscron, Ostend, Eupen, Standard ... The question is whether they can extend this line to the competition. If you ask me, they are all set for it. Especially when even players like Christian Burgess have been attracted. He was a fixture at Portsmouth and was even voted Player of the Year last year. If that doesn't say enough!
