Coventry - QPR Prediction, Picks and Taips

The second round of the Championship starts in Birmingham. There the newcomer is visited by Queens Park Rangers. The game will be played at St. Andrew's Stadium. Coventry and QPR last faced each other in 2011, resulting in a 2-1 victory for the Londoners. A preview!

Last weekend, Coventry City was defeated on a visit to Bristol City. The Sky Blues started the game extremely unhappy. After twenty seconds, the ball was behind keeper Marko Maroši. Given the game image, it was not undeserved that Coventry came back on the same level after half an hour of play via Matt Godden. Just before the end, however, there was very poor defense at a corner, so Bristol City still managed to keep the three points in-house (2-1). Coventry City played a strong pot, but was not left with a few compliments from the game in Bristol. With busy weeks ahead, Mark Robins decided to overhaul his entire team for the duel with Gillingham in the second round of the Carabao Cup. The head coach sent no fewer than eleven new names into the field compared to the starting team against Bristol City. For a long time, the combination of youth and substitutes seemed to be enough for a place in the third round of the cup tournament. The French Max Biamou had put The Sky Blues ahead after an hour and this seemed to be the winning goal until injury time. However, a foul by defender Michael Rose allowed Gillingham to come alongside in the 94th minute, meaning the game had to be decided from eleven yards. The League One team took the penalties better than Coventry and so the second round is the final point for The Sky Blues this season.

Queens Park Rangers will be fitter than Coventry City on Friday-evening, as Mark Warburton's side has not had to play a game midweek. The R's already flew out of the Carabao Cup against Plymouth Argyle last week and have been able to prepare optimally for the duel with the PhD candidate from last Saturday. There were also no new injuries last week and so the London team travels to Birmingham almost fit. Queens Park Rangers can at least call themselves the leader of the Championship since Saturday. QPR beat Nottingham Forest 2-0, now topping the league table with Sheffield Wednesday and Reading. New acquisition Lyndon Dykes was good for the opening goal at Loftus Road at the start of the second half. The Scottish striker shot flawlessly from eleven meters. Deep in injury time, Ilias Chair decided the game via a simple ticker. Forest was certainly not inferior to QPR, but the visitors were very careless in the completion.
