Braga - Rio Ave prediction, Picks and Tips

Former Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal is now in charge of Sporting Braga and things are going well for him so far. Let us remember that after a turbulent 2019/20 season, in the end the Archbishops entered European competition and this 2020/21 things have started well, to the point that that 2-1 defeat against Belenenses at the beginning of the month is the only defeat de Braga in his last nine league outings and in multiple cup competitions in what has been a strong start to the season. Eighteen points from his first nine Primeira Liga games put him in fourth position before this midweek encounter, and his only other domestic deficits come in his first two outings of the new season. They have also done well in the Europa League where they reached the round of 16, after sharing first place with Leicester City and thus have shown that they are the fourth strength of Portugal. In their last game they beat Estoril 3-1 in the League Taca, thus adding a streak of three consecutive games won and here they aim to make their home prevail where they have not lost in their last seven official games where they won six of them. Possible lineup: Matheus; Sequeira, Carmo, Viana; Galeno, Castro, Elmusrati, Esgaio; Horta, Paulinho, Medeiros.

After seeing Carvalhal leave in the summer, Rio Ave brought Mario Silva to try to continue the good work but things have not gone as expected and so first the Vilacondenses were eliminated from the Europa League playoffs by the giants Italians AC Milan, and their two Primeira Liga victories to date indicate that they are unlikely to win a spot again for qualification for European competition. Although Rio Ave is located in ninth place, adding only eleven points, and since the difference with the last two classified, Farense and Portimonense is three points, so it has to start to wake up and more in the offensive zone, since the Vilacondenses have only scored five goals, being the worst offense in the Primeira Liga, but beware that they also have the best defense, receiving only seven games, and want to build on this to achieve a good result in Braga where they have not been able to win in their last three visits where they lost two of them. Possible lineup: Kieszek; Pinto, Borevkovic, Santos, Amaral; Pele, Augusto; Mane, Geraldes, Lopes; Gelson.
