The final chord of the 21st round in LaLiga is played from the Benito Villamarín, where Real Betis takes on Osasuna. Last season the Andalusians managed to win twice; are there any points in the barrel for the visitors?

 

 

 
 
    
Coach Mauricio Pellegrini's team was unable to live up to the high expectations in the opening phase of the season, as has often been the case in recent years. No less than eight of the first eleven league games were lost, leaving Los Béticos quickly in the basement of LaLiga. Very painful for a club of the caliber Betis, which in recent years had excellent player material and has a budget with which one should at least get involved in the battle for European football.



As of the new calendar year, the southerners seem to have recovered in any case, as the club is still unbeaten in 2021. Although in the league, apart from Sevilla (2-2 draw), no major opponent was hit yet, but in the Copa del Rey Betis was able to score a nice victory over Real Sociedad in the midweek round. The Andalusians did need an extension and two goals from Borja Iglesias to win the ticket for the next round, so it remains to be seen whether the club has already recovered from the cup match on Monday.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Osasuna had a neat start to the season, in which Athletic Bilbao was beaten 1-0. At the end of October, however, things quickly went downhill with the performance of los Rojillos, as no league victory was booked until last weekend. In-house, the Jagoba Arrasate team ended the appalling series without victories, as Granada was defeated thanks to two hits by Ante Budimir and a goal by Jon Moncayola: 3-1.



However, Budimir is not present this weekend, as the goal-getter was injured in the duel with Granada. Typical of Osasuna, as the team has been plagued by injuries all season. The formation of Arrasate still keeps its head above water in the rankings, although the relegation streak is now very close. Just like Monday's opponent, Osasuna also played 120 minutes in the cup match against Almería, which was lost after penalties.
