Bayer Leverkusen was responsible for a particularly attractive match last Tuesday, together with Borussia Dortmund. In the BayArena, the two top teams promoted German football. There was a game in top gear, with the necessary opportunities for both teams. The match seemed to end in a draw, but youngster Florian Wirtz put a stop to that. VfL Wolfsburg is not the most striking team from the left row of the Bundesliga, but the club from the Volkswagen city is playing a strong season in relative anonymity. After seventeen duels, Wolfsburg is on a subtotal of 29, which puts it in a fine fifth place. Midweek, a victory was booked for the seventh time this season. Die Wölfe certainly did not play their strongest match of this football year, but a visit to FSV Mainz 05 the offer was enough for a 0-2 victory. Wout Weghorst scored the 0-2 with a nice marker.



Weghorst's performances are again excellent this season. After seventeen games, the Dutch striker is on twelve hits, which puts him in (shared) second place on the top scorers list. The center forward usually misses little game, but for Saturday's game, his employability is not entirely certain. If possible, however, he will start in this important match against a direct competitor.
