National champion Juventus opened the hunt for the tenth title in a row with a simple victory over Sampdoria. Andrea Pirlo started with a number of new names in the starting eleven. For example, the 21-year-old Gianluca Frabotta was allowed to start. The youngster made his debut in the last game of last season and is now part of the main force. Purchases Weston McKennie and Dejan Kulusevski made their basic debut, the latter being particularly notable. The Swede quickly found his way in Turin and scored the opening goal in the thirteenth minute.
