Angers - Brest Prediction, Picks and Taips

Last weekend there were five hits in both the match of Angers and Stade Brestois. Can we expect a goal fest this weekend too?

On a visit to Montpellier, Angers suffered a hard defeat last weekend. At half time, the team of Stéphane Moulin was 2-1 behind and in the second half les Scoists conceded two more goals without scoring themselves, resulting in a 4-1 loss. Due to the second defeat in three games, the Moulin team has now dropped to the middle bracket and this season a place low in the left row seems to be the highest possible. Given the goal difference of -3 (3-6), things go wrong at Angers on both a defensive and offensive level and one of the reasons for this seems to be the departure of Baptiste Santamaria to the German SC Freiburg. The French midfielder was the standard link between the defense and the vanguard in Moulin's 4-1-4-1 system and is already being missed. In the coming matches Moulin will undoubtedly experiment which player can best take over the role of Santamaria, but so far I do not see a player in the selection of les Scoists with the qualities of Santamaria.

With a 4-0 loss against Nîmes Olympique, followed by a 3-2 loss against Olympique Marseille, Stade Brestois started the new season anything but convincing. However, Olivier Dall'Oglio's team has been able to work on their self-confidence against Dijon and PhD student Lorient in the last two weeks. Two weeks ago, for example, they won 2-0 on a visit to Dijon and last weekend a deserved 3-2 home win was booked against Lorient, as a result of which les Ty 'Zefs have moved up to the middle bracket. One of the stars at Stade Brestois in recent weeks is defender Romain Perraud. The 23-year-old left back was good for only one assist in twenty games last season, but gave both an assist and a goal against both Dijon and Lorient. In the front, however, there is still no real goal-getter in form, as attackers Gaëtan Charbonier, Irvin Cardona, Franck Honorat and Steve Mounié have all scored only one goal so far.
