Zwickau – Ingolstadt Picks & Prediction
Zwickau - Ingolstadt Prediction, Picks and Tips
A tough January is waiting for FSV Zwickau. The West Saxons have to play six competitive games in the first month of the new year because several matches had to be canceled in the course of the quarantine at the beginning to mid-December. The first of the three catch-up games will take place on Wednesday evening in their own stadium.
Before the game Ingolstadt vs. Zwickau, the odds are a clear indication that the bookmakers see the guest from Upper Bavaria as the favorite. The Schanzer's implicit victory probability of only 52% has its reasons. For example, the FCI was only able to win two of its eight games abroad this season.
From the point of view of coach Tomas Oral's team, however, it can be said that the current form is quite impressive. None of the past four third division games have been lost. In addition, the former Bundesliga team has the chance during the week to stalk the leader Dynamo Dresden with a victory in the table of the 3rd division up to one point.
For the FSV, on the other hand, it's about taking the small upswing from the 2-1 win over the weekend at home against Lübeck and annoying someone who is looking for promotion. With all due recognition for the difficulty of the task, between Zwickau and Ingolstadt we dare to predict that a tip on the guest contains the more attractive value.
Joe Enochs will be on the sidelines for the 100th time at FSV Zwickau on Wednesday. The fact that he can still experience this anniversary is probably thanks to the 2-1 victory over the weekend against VfB Lübeck. Before this game, the rumors increased that the German-American would have to vacate his post in the event of another defeat.
Such a dismissal would not have been really surprising, by the way, because before the mentioned home win at the start of the year, the West Saxony only won one of their previous eight encounters and fell far behind in the ranking after a very promising start to the season. It is currently in 18th place. The lead on the first relegation place is only one point, although the Swans, as mentioned, still have three games up their sleeves.
However, we do not consider it particularly likely that the points account will be increased on Wednesday. The reason for this is primarily the poor yield in their own stadium. With just seven points from nine home games, the FSV currently has the second weakest home team in the 3rd division.
To make matters worse, there are only seven meager hits. The Zwickau team stayed at home four times without a goal of their own.
In any case, coach Joe Enochs, who continues to enjoy the backing of his team, will take a defensive approach against FC Ingolstadt. The relegation candidate wants to provoke ball losses at the favorites and then quickly bridge the midfield with the help of the target player Ronny König. So far, this has only worked to a limited extent in their own stadium, which is impressively demonstrated by the six home defeats.
The players of FC Ingolstadt will have enjoyed watching the match between Türkgücü Munich and Dynamo Dresden in front of their home TV on Monday evening. Surprisingly, the newcomer beat the leaders 1-0 at home and ensured that the Schanzer were able to shorten the gap to the yellow-blacks in the tableau to one point on Wednesday evening.
The prerequisite for this is that the quotas between Zwickau and Ingolstadt pay off in the current second place. This is supported by the fact that the Oral-Elf recently presented themselves very stable. Oberbayern only lost one of the last seven third division games and scored 14 out of a possible 21 points. Last weekend the strongest team in the 3rd division celebrated an important 2-1 home win against SV Duisburg.
Away, however, the FCI has revealed deficits in the season so far. Only two of eight guest performances were victorious. 14 of the total of 20 goals conceded by keeper Buntic abroad. Nevertheless, we believe that the qualitatively much stronger and probably more self-confident guests during the week have a good chance of kidnapping all three points from West Saxony.
The recently signed professional scandal Caiuby may also celebrate his comeback. The 32-year-old attacker brings a lot of experience and individual class with almost 250 first and second division games. The only question mark remains the current fitness level of the Brazilian, who can only be used in Germany's third-highest division if he has a permanent residence certificate. He may become an option on Wednesday, because with Beister, Schröck, Preißinger, Franke and the suspended Kutschke, several professionals will be canceled.
