Willem II got rid of trainer Adrie Koster after last weekend. The credit of the experienced coach, who had done so well last year, turned out. Without Koster, the Tricolores played the tough away game at Ajax midweek. In Amsterdam, Willem II was allowed to hope for a draw for a while, but two late hits by the North Hollanders prevented that. In the end, they lost 3-1 - the thirteenth defeat of this season.



The club management did not wait long to present a successor to Koster. Zeljko Petrovic came over from Feyenoord, and has the task of keeping Willem II in the Eredivisie. The current gap in the safe fifteenth place is a bridgeable four points. Given the qualities of the selection, enforcement is feasible, although Willem II would of course not be the first club to relegate against all odds. Willem II may perform poorly this season; FC Emmen is doing even worse. The club from Drenthe is even waiting, with February just around the corner, for the first season victory. Midweek went wrong in the home game against PSV. For a long time, the team of trainer Dick Lukkien managed to keep the Eindhoven team from scoring, but in the final phase keeper Dennis Telgenkamp had to fish twice (0-2).



This week, another new player was added to the selection. Luka Adzic, who also played for the club from Drenthe in the past, was hired from Anderlecht for the rest of the season. However, the Serbian is not eligible to play for the next two weeks. Lukkien will therefore have to make a line-up without the attacking midfielder.
