Torino - Bologna Prediction, Picks and Tips

Turin FC have won three of their last five league games - including the impressive 2-0 win at AS Roma at the start of the year. This is only one less victory in this phase than in the entire 13 league games before. The team of Walter Mazzarri, who recently celebrated his two-year coaching anniversary in the capital of Piedmont on January 4, is doing well and would like to continue against Bologna. The Rossoblu are just one point less on the account one place behind the Granata in position ten of the current Serie A table. At Turin FC against Bologna, the odds of bookmakers in the direction of the home side beat out, but they have only won three of the nine league games at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. In addition, the Veltri already scored four out of six possible points against "Il Toro" in the strong Turin pre-season and gave the Granata five goals. More than any other first division side, which should be kept in mind when forecasting Turin FC against Bologna. The momentum of the Rossoblu is also greater, the last to score seven out of nine possible points. In our eyes, the most sustainable is to play Tip X at Turin FC against Bologna.

In the 2018/19 season, Turin FC was still one of the positive surprises of Serie A. Under Walter Mazzarri, the seven-time Italian champion ended up in seventh place in the table and qualified for the qualification round for the Europa League. Against the Wolverhampton Wanderers the dream of returning to the international competition then burst, but most of the top performers could be kept in the summer transfer window. Departures such as those from M’Baye Niang or Adem Ljajic were also compensated for by promising newcomers. It is all the more surprising that after just 18 league games in the new season, there is already one more defeat in the Granata than in the entire 2018/19 season. One possible reason is the lost defensive stability of the bulls, who have conceded 26 goals in 18 league games. In the previous season there were only 37 goals conceded when that defense was the showpiece of the footballers from Piedmont. Last season, however, "Il Toro" conceded five of these 37 goals from the Rossoblu, which are now to be used to settle an open account in this home game. Historically, there is at least one factor that suggests that Turin FC vs. Bologna have a tip to win the home side: Since 1954, "Il Toro" has never lost two consecutive home games against Veltri. But another aspect benefits coach Walter Mazzarri: Both Bremer and Cristian Ansaldi flew from the pitch in the 1-2 home defeat against SPAL Ferrara on December 21, 2019. Both return after their yellow card suspension in Rome and offer their coach further opportunities. The problem, however, is the fact that the Coppa Italia went into the penalty shootout on Thursday evening. There, the bulls had the upper hand against Genoa, but with an additional 120 minutes in their bones they went into the third competitive game within a week.

Bologna FC's winter break was almost perfect after three of four league games were won in December. Only the home game against AC Milan was lost 2: 3. The Rossoblu beat Atalanta Bergamo at home. There were also two away wins, which were also anything but self-evident: a 2-1 win at SSC Napoli, which was fatal to Carlo Ancelotti, and a 3-2 win after a 3-0 lead at US Lecce. The start of the year 2020 underlined that the necessary mentality is also present in Sinisa Mihajlovic's team, when another home defeat was literally averted against Fiorentina in the last second. Riccardo Orsolini scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to make it 1-1. This means seven out of nine possible points from the last three games alone. Added to this is the newly gained away momentum. Although there were only three away wins from the nine guest appearances in Serie A, the Veltri recently won twice in series in the distance. What makes Bologna FC even more dangerous is the fact that coach Sinisa Mihajlovic does not currently have to compensate for any painful failures. Only left-back Mitchell Djiks, who only has 315 minutes in Serie A anyway, and left winger Ladislav Krejci are currently missing. Both are by no means part of the regular team. Nevertheless, at Turin FC against Bologna the odds of the bookmakers in the direction of the Granata turn out, which after all started the year with an impressive away win in Rome. The tenth of the previous season nonetheless travels with corresponding ambitions to the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, where a 3-2 away win could be taken last season under much more adverse circumstances. Last, but not least, the fact that Rossoblu doesn't have an additional cup game during the week, let alone added time, speaks for a point win by Rossoblu. The Veltri finally said goodbye to Coppa Italia in early December.
