Dyn. Kyiv - Barcelona Prediction, Picks and Tips

FC Barcelona will board the plane to Ukraine this week, to take on Dynamo Kiev in the fourth round of group G in the Champions League. The Spaniards are in the lead and are certain of a place in the eighth finals of the European ball of millions with a victory in the Olympic Stadium, but the Ukrainians are not planning to roll out the red carpet.

Dynamo Kyiv's counter is only at a paltry point after three group matches, so only if the Ukrainians all win their remaining matches would, in theory, winter in the Champions League be possible. Trainer Mircea Lucescu does not believe in fairytales, however, so he and his team are aiming for third place in this group. The last group match against the Hungarian Ferencvaros in particular will be decisive, although he hopes to gather some points against the other group mates FC Barcelona and Juventus in the run-up to that squatter. However, that will be a tough job, because just like earlier this month at the Camp Nou, Dynamo Kiev is struggling with a laundry list of absentees due to positive corona cases. Lucescu will again have to improvise a lot, although Dynamo Kiev can draw confidence from the results in their own country. Despite the personnel problems, the capitals manage to keep arch-rival Shakhtar Donetsk behind in the Ukrainian Premier League.

FC Barcelona is still without a point loss in this edition of the Champions League, and is therefore already with one foot in the next round. Yet there is a tense atmosphere in the Camp Nou. This of course has everything to do with the bad start of the competition of the Spanish top club in their own country. The Blaugrana lost 1-0 to Atletico Madrid last weekend, putting them on their worst season start in LaLiga since 1991 with only eleven points from eight rounds of play. The Spanish media are already sharpening their knives, so trainer Ronald Koeman is absolutely unenviable. To make matters worse, FC Barcelona was also hit by an injury wave, which allowed Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Ansu Fati and Sergi Roberto to write the trip to Ukraine on their stomach. In addition, Koeman has decided to give Lionel Messi and Frenkie de Jong rest, so they will also not play on Tuesday-evening. So we will mainly see the second garnish in action against Dynamo Kiev.
