Albania - Kosovo Prediction, Picks and Taips
While the term “friendly” could easily be substituted with the term “international” in many duels on Wednesday, the game between Albania and Kosovo is different. In fact, both nations have a close economic, cultural or social relationship, which is not least due to the fact that a large part of the Kosovar population is of Albanian origin.
But the friendship will have to rest for 90 minutes, because both the hosts and the guests strive for a necessary sense of achievement. Nevertheless, we would refrain from predicting the outcome of the game between Albania and Kosovo and instead focus on the goal market.
Selection teams can not necessarily be assumed that in the duel Albania against Kosovo the odds on a particularly large number of goals will pay off. The 2016 European Championship participant has a single goal after four international matches in 2020, while the Dardanen needed six games for their three goals.
Because we expect a match at eye level and cannot imagine that one of the two national teams will gain the clear advantages on their side, between Albania and Kosovo the tip on a maximum of two goals during the game might be a good idea.
The international match year 2020 the Albanian national team had certainly imagined completely different. Especially in the UEFA Nations League, the red-blacks had probably hoped for a lot. After four match days in Group C4, there are only five points on the credit side, even though the opposition with Belarus, Lithuania and Kazakhstan was anything but difficult.
Only one of the four mentioned matches was won by the team of coach Edoardo Reja. In October, the European Championship participant finally had to play away twice and drew both Kazakhstan and Lithuania goalless. This also quickly makes the biggest shortcoming clear: The offensive!
Two goals in four international matches in 2020 is an underground figure, which comes as a surprise insofar as the Albanians scored in six out of ten games in the European Championship qualification and only went goalless against the top nations France, Turkey or Iceland.
Because there is a lack of self-confidence and certainly also to a certain extent the individual quality in attack, we consider a trend reversal on Wednesday evening to be relatively unlikely. In nine of the 14 international matches since the beginning of 2019, a corresponding bet would have paid off.
In addition, it is currently still questionable whether the 75-year-old Italian coach will offer his best formation, especially since two important competitive games in the Nations League are on the program at the weekend and in the coming week, where it is still despite the disappointing yield so far to win the group and the associated promotion to group B.
Almost exactly a month has passed after the Kosovars had to accept what is probably the greatest disappointment in the still young history of the association. In the playoff semifinals for EURO 2021, the Dardanen lost to North Macedonia 1: 2 and had to put all hopes of their first participation in a major event aside.
In the two subsequent Nations League games, the blue-whites also seem to have not quite got over the disappointment. They lost 1-0 against Slovenia; after all, it was enough to score a goalless draw against Greece. Similar to the upcoming opponent, the 117th in the world rankings is also the offensive that causes problems.
In six international matches in 2020, Milot Rashica and colleagues only managed three meager goals. The Kosovars last scored more than one goal in a game over a year ago, in a 2-0 home win against Montenegro. Of the six friendly matches played since the beginning of 2018, only two ended with at least three goals in the course of the game. As a result, it can definitely make sense to venture a corresponding forecast of an under match between Albania and Kosovo.
To make matters worse, the Dardanen will have to do without their best offensive player in the three upcoming international matches. Milot Rashica does not get approval from Werder Bremen, so the guests will fight with "blunt knives" against Albania as well as in the Nations League in Slovenia and at home against Moldova. Hopes rest solely on the shoulders of Vedat Muriqi from Lazio, who is still waiting for his first goal of the season in Italy.
