In the league, Man City avenged their 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace with a 2-0 win over Burnley. In between these results came qualification for the FA Cup semi-finals, after 4-1 vs Southampton. City are top of the Premier League but have lost the significant points gap that separated them from the bottom few months ago. It is currently just one point ahead of Liverpool.
On the other hand, Jurgen Klopp's Cormorants have five consecutive wins in all competitions. They beat Benfica in the Champions League quarter-final first leg in midweek. It was 3-1 to the English, for whom Konate, Mane and Diaz scored. In the Premier League, Liverpool have not dropped points since a 2-2 draw at Chelsea on 2 January. The Anfield club are second in the English Championship, one point behind rivals Man City.
