Denmark U21 – Germany U21 Picks & Prediction
Denmark U21 - Germany U21 Prediction, Picks and Tips
Together with the eleven from Portugal, Denmark was the best team in the preliminary round of the U21 European Championship. Nevertheless, the Danes, for example at the betting company Mybet, are not given any great chances of winning the title. It may have something to do with the fact that Denmark, historically, did not leave a lasting impression at the U21 European Championship. In 1992 and 2015 it was enough to make it to the semi-finals twice, but until today it wasn’t possible.
Perhaps that will change in 2021. The Danes have been unbeaten for 16 games. The last bankruptcy was at the EURO two years ago, of all places, against Germany, although the squads have changed in most positions to this day. Few of the players who play today were on the pitch two years ago.
In the preliminary round, the Danes were completely convincing. With three wins and no goals conceded, Albert Capellas' team secured victory in the group and, among other things, put the highly regarded French youngsters in their place. With two hits, Anders Dreyer belongs to a circle of eight players who scored twice in the group stage.
The tribe of the German team stayed together, but Stefan Kuntz also had to make some changes in the line-up. Maxim Leitsch, Stephan Ambrosius, Florian Krüger, Malick Thiaw and Youssoufa Moukoko were still there in March, but have now been replaced, mainly due to injury.
Especially Florian Wirtz and Janni Serra are now among the hopefuls among the new players. In the preliminary round it could have been worse, but also better. After the 3-0 win against Hungary at the start, things got really tight. Against Holland it was enough after a late goal to a 1: 1 and against Romania they struggled to a 0: 0, which was enough in the end. After all, the DFB youngsters have been unbeaten in seven games.
Overall, however, these appearances have shown that you will have to improve in the quarter-finals. Before the kick-off between Denmark and Germany, we would not give a forecast of the German team's title win. Nevertheless, it is clear that Stefan Kuntz's team has a great individual class and, if everything goes well, can certainly reach the semifinals first.
