Oss – Breda Picks & Prediction
Oss - Breda Prediction, Picks and Tips
NAC Breda has reconnected with the top teams after a dip in October. No points may be lost against number seventeen TOP Oss.
TOP Oss plays no significant role this season. Klaas Wels's team has won only two of its twelve games so far and is now in a disappointing seventeenth place. Given the strength of the selection, you shouldn't really expect more, especially since the team has hardly any scoring ability. Only nine goals have been scored so far. Names such as Cas Peters, Lars Hutten, Dennis van der Heijden and Mart Remans are known to be able to score a goal, but we will not see that this season.
Nevertheless, Oss has already succeeded several times this season in making the higher ranked teams difficult. At the beginning of the season, Cambuur Leewarden was held on a draw and last week a surprising point was taken on the Dijk against FC Volendam. It was fully earned 1-1, and the Osse goal was provided by Dennis van der Heijden.
There was also good news for Oss. The promises players Lion Kalentjev and Brian Vogelzang were hired from NEC. Given the tightness of the selection, this is not a luxury in times when football clubs are often victims of a corona outbreak. This has been spared Oss so far, as Wels could not have access to Olivier and Philippe Rommens, Mart Remans, Kyvon Leidsman, Grad Damen and Sjoerd Overgoor last week. Most of these players will not have returned on Friday.
The season of NAC Breda can be summarized so far: a very strong start to the season, a dramatic month of October and a strong recovery in November. Maurice Steijn's team won the first six games of the season and was proudly at the top, until a corona outbreak occurred in the selection. Almost the entire month of October, the Breda team had to play with half a selection, some of which were actually not fit. It led to defeats against Cambuur (0-4), Go Ahead Eagles in the cup (0-6), Almere City (2-0) and NEC (0-1). In November, however, three of the four games were won again and NAC is still fourth, with only three points behind league-leader Almere City.
An unprecedented luxury is that Steijn has an almost complete selection. There are no more corona cases or the aftermath of an infection and so Mounir El Allouchi, Lex Immers, Thom Haye are back. NAC also had the necessary injuries and Moreno Rutten, Nacho Monsalve, Mario Bilate and Kaj de Rooij had to miss the necessary games. The foursome has been training with the group again this week and it is expected that at least Rutten and Bilate will play again. The latter is likely to be at the expense of Sydney van Hooijdonk, who started the season strongly but has not focused on his sights in recent weeks.
