Poland - Bosnia & Herzegovina Prediction, Picks and Taips
In group A1 of the Nations League, Poland will receive a visit from Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday evening. Both countries managed to stunt last weekend with draws against Italy and the Netherlands respectively, and can therefore confidently work towards this game.
Last weekend, Poland was lucky that it was left with one point on its own field from its confrontation with Italy: 0-0. Despite the presence of top striker Robert Lewandowski, the home country did not get further than just three goal attempts, versus sixteen for the visitors. Despite an excellent result, national coach Jerzy Brzeczek could not be at all satisfied with the game of his team.
Poland is already playing its third international match against Bosnia-Herzegovina in just eight days, so Brzeczek will feel compelled to provide his starting team with fresh blood. Still, Lewandowski, who is invisible against Italy, is expected to keep his place in the Polish starting eleven. Center defender Jan Bednarek returns from a suspension and will therefore play anyway, but how Brzeczek will fill in the rest of his team is still a matter of coffee.
Bosnia-Herzegovina also managed to stunt last weekend by keeping the Netherlands from new national coach Frank de Boer in a goalless draw. Even the most optimistic Bosnian football fan would not have dared to dream of this beforehand, because after the physical and mental exhaustion in the European Championship playoffs against Northern Ireland lost after penalties, the Balkan country took on a refined B-team. The star players Miralem Pjanic, Edin Visca, Sead Kolasinac and of course Edin Dzeko were not at the kick-off, but nevertheless De Draken had little to fear from the uninspired Netherlands.
Bosnia-Herzegovina managed to boost its self-confidence against the Netherlands again after the downer against Northern Ireland. In addition, the visitors now have access to a relatively fit basic eleven, since Pjanic, Visca, Kolasinac and Dzeko, among others, have been able to take their rest. The visitors therefore give themselves a good chance to survive in Poland.
