Stuttgart - Sandhausen Prediction, Picks and Taips
Sometimes soccer is a dirty business. In many clubs, however, honor is still very important, especially at the end of the season, when there is basically nothing at stake for your own team. Nevertheless, you don't get hung up in the last few games so as not to be exposed to the distortion of competition.
It can therefore be assumed that SV Sandhausen as a guest at VfB Stuttgart will get everything out of it again on Wednesday, even if the hard forests are in fact nothing more, even if the descent is still possible in gray theory. For VfB, however, the race for promotion to the Bundesliga is all about everything.
In the second division table, the Stuttgart three games before the end of the season are in third place with 52 points and are therefore a sandwich between HSV and Heidenheim. Everything is possible for the Swabians between direct ascent and sliding down to fourth place. Therefore, an eye always goes to the places where the competition is playing.
We have already reported on the games from Tuesday with HSV against Osnabrück and Heidenheim in Fürth in our second division tips. VfB currently only has the relegation in its own hands. That should be a win on Wednesday, but the SVS is an enormously formidable opponent. Nevertheless, between Stuttgart and Sandhausen the forecast is towards home win.
The sand houses broke the magical 40-point mark at the weekend. If there are three games left, the advantage over the lower relegation rank is seven points. Nothing will burn for Uwe Koschinat and his kickers. It would be even better if Sandhausen still achieved a one-digit place in the table, currently tenth place would be the best season in the club's history.
But there are still a few points to be made. Maybe there will be something to harvest on Wednesday in the derby in Stuttgart. If we take the form as a basis, then between Stuttgart and Sandhausen it is not too far-fetched for the guests to score points if this game is kicked off on June 17, 2020 at 17:30 p.m. in the Mercedes-Benz-Arena.
Does VfB Stuttgart still give the promotion out of hand in the final sprint of the second Bundesliga? World champion Guido Buchwald has recently criticized players and coaches violently. According to the club icon, the team lacks the goal and team spirit. The last shown performances on the lawn and above all the results prove him right.
The people of Stuttgart are currently no more than a tumbling giant in the top group of the lower house. Basically, the Swabians can be happy that there will be another snail race for the ascent this season, because otherwise the VfB would no longer be a candidate for the promotion.
Perhaps the VfB superiors' assessment of Pellegrino Matarazzo was not entirely correct, and his contract was also extended at short notice. Recently there were only two meager wins in eight second division games. In the meantime, the Swabians can no longer manage direct ascent on their own. Nevertheless, in the duel between Stuttgart and Sandhausen, the odds of the best betting providers on a home win remain the first choice.
To do this, however, VfB has to clear their heads again and tick off the derby bankruptcy at the relegation candidate in Karlsruhe. Stuttgart basically only had a good quarter of an hour just before half on Sunday when Nicolas Gonzalez equalized the early deficit with a penalty. In the end, the Swabians could be happy that the derby was lost only 1: 2.
That Pellegrino Matarazzo ticked off the direct rise with this defeat can be interpreted in his words. Nevertheless, it is clear that the ascent is the goal of the Swabians, whether with or without a relegation.
There is currently no team that can play two games in a row with the same formation. This also applies to VfB Stuttgart. At least the Japanese Wataru Endo will have to watch a game because of his fifth yellow card. Added to this is the absence of the injured Maxime Awoudja and Borna Sosa.
It was extremely tight this season for SV Sandhausen. There was little to suggest that it would hit the hard forests and that the second Bundesliga adventure could come to an end after seven years of membership. With an absolute energy performance, however, the SVS has again secured class retention and will continue to be the smallest venue in the lower house.
There are teams that didn't get along well with the break, but Uwe Koschinat and his players came back in top shape and, together with VfL Bochum, are the league's best-performing team, ahead of the designated champions from Bielefeld. So Sandhausen has made the leap into the middle of the second division.
Sandhausen has been unbeaten for five games and has scored eleven points in these games. This is a sensation for a relegation candidate. In this condition, it is possible to score away even in the derby. However, the trend remains that between VfB Stuttgart and Sandhausen the forecast goes in the direction of the home side.
The fact that the SVS is also a disgusting and uncomfortable opponent for the top teams in the league, became clear last Friday when Arminia Bielefeld was a guest in the Hardtwald. The game ended in a goalless draw, but Sandhausen had more possession and better tackles.
Coach Uwe Koschinat, who has received proof from his team against Bielefeld that his team can compete against top teams, also hits that notch.
VfB Stuttgart should feel this on Wednesday because, despite the recent mixed results, the Swabians can still count as the top team.
Uwe Koschinat seems to have found the best tactics and formation for his team. So there will hardly be any changes compared to the Bielefeld game. The hard forests will continue to have to do without three players on Wednesday. Rurik Gislason and Markus Karl are out even longer. Besar Halimi has to fit after a muscle injury.
